Objectives of pruning are varied, and include hazard mitigation, aesthetics, structure, thinning, reduction, fine pruning, and more. I work with tree owners to develop a pruning plan that balances the owners’ needs with the trees. Trees are a beautiful and valuable part of our urban landscape, and I always consider the long term health of the tree, adhering to the ANSI A300 industry pruning standards, and typically aiming for a natural appearance.
